About

Ottilie Fine is an artist whose work is drawn to stories, folklore, and the uncanny. After studying Illustration at Aberystwyth University (2011–2014), she spent several years as a visual merchandiser, turning shop windows into small worlds before training as an art teacher at the University of Brighton in 2018. She has taught Art and Design & Technology ever since, and for the past five years has led both departments. She is currently studying for an MFA at Oxford Brookes University.

Her practice draws on spooky folklore and the emotional undercurrents of literature, giving visual form to the feelings stories leave behind. She is especially interested in how tales move beyond the page, shaping the beliefs, fears, and choices of the people who carry them into their everyday lives.
